Support Us

Considering Supporting Our Powerful Work? Here’s Why You Should.

This past year we were able to continue our efforts of partnering with Girls on the Run – Central Louisiana, hosting our free community event CenLa KidzFest, organizing the 19th annual A Very Merry Market, and hosting the 6th annual League of Trucks. We were able to award $10,000 to ten high school senior girls and $10,000 in grants to local nonprofits. We added our newest community project this year, the JLA Care Closet, a space in a local school designed to provide basic hygiene needs to students in order to allow them to feel supported, empowered, and cared for regardless of their situation. We plan to expand that program this year into other area schools. We are also invested in our mission to train women to become strong, impactful civic leaders in their communities, and hope to be able to send members to international leadership trainings throughout the year.

Your gift and support matter to the JLA. It helps us further our mission of promoting voluntarism and developing the potential of women. The Junior League of Alexandria devotes countless volunteer hours and dollars to many organizations locally that are striving for our same common goal, the growth, and development of Central Louisiana. Every amount collected is used right here in Central Louisiana, whether it is to a local senior girl for a scholarship for her continuing education, giving back to another local nonprofit organization to further their mission, or creating community impact projects where we are hands-on aiding another organization, or the training of our members to become stronger leaders to serve our community for years to come. We are deeply grateful for your careful consideration to join us as a partner.

Your Donations Make a Local Impact.

For over 100 years The Junior League has been helping to lift people out of poverty, community by community. Our history is strong, and you’ve helped to make that possible.

This past year, The Junior League of Alexandria volunteers spent approximately 2,500 hours working in our community and YOU invested tens of thousands of dollars into our community projects and partners. We provided resources that assist with scholarships for high school senior girls, held Cenla Kidzfest, where we were able to demonstrate life skills and safety skills to over 200 families, participated in Girls on the Run, and held various pieces of training for our members. We have volunteered in Cenla since 1941 and with your continued support, we can continue to work to build a better community. #JoinUs
